Delicious Plant Based Milks (Make at Home)

Cashew milk

You can soak 100-200 grams of fresh cashews in water. These cashews double up their volume. Now grind the cashews in a blender. Add water slowly. As the cashews keep grinding, keeping adding water. Take it out of the blender and double filtrate the same. You can add more water if you think that is the milk is way too creamy or thick. You can heat the milk at a mild temperature. Now, the home-made cashew milk is all ready for use. You can make delicious cups of coffee, chocolate milk and desserts with the help of this. Say, for instance, you can add a vanilla nut coffee creamer, to compliment any caffeinated beverage.

Oat milk

Almond milk

You can soak about 200-300 grams of Californian almonds. You need to grind the almonds coarsely and then keep adding water. You can add four to five tumblers of water to pave way to making a liter of rich and creamy almond milk. The flavor is mild. Hence, you can store the milk for making delicious cups of cold coffee, chocolate truffles and other tasty puddings. Almonds are excellent sources of Vitamin E, Potassium and Magnesium. Chocolate almond milk and Unsweetened almond milk can be bought via stores as well. You have the tasty drink filled with vitamins and antioxidants.

 

Home-based soya milk

Soak two cups of raw soya beans overnight & Make sure to cover it with lots of water. Soya can absorb a lot of water while soaking. Drain out the excess water off the soybeans, the next day. Now, grind the soybeans in a blender. Grind the portion in batches.

Take a cup of soybeans and add four cups of water to it. Now, again grind the remaining soybeans with four more cups of water. Using a nut bag, drain off the soy pulp. Take the milk and boil it in medium flame. It can gather a lot of foam and expand while you heat it. Hence, be careful and keep on stirring. You can heat it completely and allow it to cool down.

Now, you store the soy milk in air-tight containers. You can add Vanilla essence or sweetened dates to add to the flavor. Soya is an excellent source of protein and Calcium.

Coconut milk

Coconut Milk, Vegan Milk, Dairy Free, Lactose Free, Plant Based

Take 4 cups of water and two cups of shredded coconut. You will have to grind it through, in a blender. Strain the coconut milk, leaving the pulp behind. Collect the strained-out coconut milk over a cheese cloth. Now, add four more cups of water to the coconut pulp. This can add to the volume. Place it on the blender via the high mode. Pulse it for 2-3 minutes on the high mode. You can now strain the milk again through the cheese cloth. You can use the coconut pulp, dehydrate it and make it into a fine powder. This way, you can bake coconut cookies or even use the coconut flour to make pancakes. You can store the coconut milk in air-tight mason jars. Coconut milk is very rich in Calcium, potassium and immune boosting antioxidants.

Gourmet nuts milk

You can add a magical combination of nuts to make the milk rich, creamy and nutritious. You will have to soak 1 cup of hazelnuts overnight. When you soak them in water, their size doubles. You add three cups of water. As stated for other milks, you slowly grind the coarse mixture and keep adding water to it. Double strain or double filtrate the nut milk using a cheese bag, nut bag or a strainer.

Now separately blend ½ a cup of chopped figs. You can add ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of Himalayan salt or what is known as a crystallized salt. Add the mix to the prepared hazelnut milk. You can add chocolate syrup, pistachio nuts or almonds to garnish on top. Your flavorful gourmet nut milk is ready for you to take a sip at. The gourmet nut milk can be excellent sources for Vitamin E, Potassium, Magnesium and Carbohydrates.
